RBQ and OPC registries · updated October 10, 2026
Check a contractor, car dealer, door-to-door seller, lender, gym or travel agency against Québec's official licence lists, in one clear verdict.
No licence applies to a sale between private individuals, so there is nothing to check here.

Every result holds an active RBQ contractor licence, with no restriction, whose subcategories cover the type of work you choose.
Checking the official registries…
Hiring a contractor, buying a car, signing at the door: each needs a different licence. We tell you which one the law requires, and why.
Type its licence number, its Québec enterprise number (NEQ) or its name. We search both official registries at once, the RBQ's and the OPC's.
Green, yellow or red, with every licence the business holds and links to the official lookups. Complaint figures are about the sector, never about this business.
It doesn't prove the business is breaking the law: lists can lag, names vary, and some businesses are exempt. Ask the business for its licence number and check it on the official lookup we link to.
No. The OPC publishes complaints without business names, so we only show figures for all businesses of the same type. Complaints are unverified allegations. For a business's own record, use the OPC's merchant lookup.
No. A licence doesn't guarantee quality. Ask for the licence number, check references and get a written contract.
Some businesses post a bond with the OPC instead of keeping customers' deposits in a trust account. It is listed in the OPC data, but it is not a licence: it never counts as the required licence, and if it is the only listing we find, the verdict is 'Needs checking', never 'Required licence found'.
