Privacy policy

VérifLicence helps you check a business's licence or permit. We collect as little information as possible. Here is exactly what the service does.

Who is responsible

The service is operated by AidenVie Technologies Inc.. The person in charge of protecting personal information is the management of AidenVie Technologies Inc.. For any question or request: privacy@aidenvie.com.

What we collect, and what we don't

• Your searches. What you type (a number, name or phone) is only used to answer you. We don't record it and keep no history of who searched for what. The addresses of the pages you view are not written to our logs.
• Statistics. We count, per day, how many actions of each type happen (for example "a check by licence number" or "a green verdict"). These counts contain nothing you typed, no IP address and no identifier.
• Scanned text. Text you paste or scan is read in memory to find numbers and names, then forgotten. It is never stored or put in a web address.
• Photos. The "Take or choose a photo" button reads the text on your phone. The photo is never sent to us. Your browser keeps the text reader (about 8 MB) for next time. If you use Google Lens or another app instead, its own rules apply.
• Emails. If you write to us, we keep your message for as long as it takes to answer and follow up.
• Pro waitlist (paused). If it reopens: your email, role, interests and consent, used only to write to you about Pro. Your IP address is used only in memory to limit abuse and is not kept.

Cookies and third-party tools

We use no cookies, no tracking tools and no advertising. Fonts and the text reader are hosted on our servers: your browser contacts no third party when you use the service.

Where data is processed

The service is hosted by Fly.io in its Toronto region (Canada). Like any host, Fly.io may keep technical connection data, such as IP addresses, for the security of its network, under its own policies.

Information about businesses

The licences and permits shown come from the open data of the Régie du bâtiment du Québec and the Office de la protection du consommateur (CC-BY 4.0 licence). We don't show the names of people who hold an RBQ licence as individuals, which the RBQ doesn't publish, and we show contact details for companies only, never for those people. To correct information, contact the body that issued the licence or permit; you can also write to us.

Your rights

You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by writing to privacy@aidenvie.com. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page.
